hellooooooooo gorgeous! it was no secret when i first met the S family that their wee one would be absolutely gorgeous… and he didn’t disappoint! i meet so many of couples during the most stressful/awesome/exhausting time of their lives, so it was nice to get to know D & T during their maternity session before all the chaos began

with such a beautiful family, i wasn’t too concerned about getting good shots, but when D pulled out a full crab set-up, i knew it was on. … because what says baltimore baby more than old bay and crabs?

the s family has some of the most fun, spunky little characters that i’ve seen in a while! so much about these three little ones reminded me of my family growing up. they have almost the exact age differences as me and my younger brother & sister, and have some very similar personality traits! (well, miss O was only 8 weeks, so that’s a little hard to tell, but Z & J definitely reminded me of myself and my brother) this was such a fun shoot and these kiddos are incredibly lucky to have such an awesome back yard!!

i just love this location– it was the perfect place for the super adorable, fun-loving T munchkins! these kids are full of expression and such a joy to photograph miss S kept reaching for her big brother’s hand. in typical little boy fashion, he was resistant at first, but he eventually took her hand and i watched him fall into that oh-so-familiar protective older sibling role. mr E was very careful with S, often looking down at her while they were walking through the thick grass, making sure she was ok… melt my heart!

oh boy are the S’s going to be in trouble in about 7 years! not only is miss K one gorgeous little lady, she already knows how to strut her stuff! K came prepared with a plethora of poses and that rare kind of confidence that will take her places someday. not to mention miss K’s studly two-year-old-of-a-brother, J. he’s full of personality and such a little man– sweet hawk!

it was one of those days. you drag all of your props/equipment/pregnant-self out to the car and realize that it’s raining. you can’t find a parking spot, so you drive the same 2 blocks 4 times until someone leaves, and you drag all of your props/equipment/pregnant-self out of the car into a torrential downpour. you have a moment of dread that comes with the “oh crap is there even going to be enough light to take photos” realization.

and then it happens: a beautiful home, a beautiful couple, one beautiful baby girl, and juuuuust enough light.

that day may not have offered much light, but little miss V certainly did! she was so sweet- even loving on a baseball for her baseball-loving daddy (who just so happened to work for the O’s).

one of my favorite things about my job is when i get to meet fun new parents. not that there aren’t many fun parents out there (there are), but it’s always nice to meet people who are laid-back, fun, and look forward to expanding their social life with their new addition rather than feeling hindered by him. handsome mr e was lucky enough to be born into one of those families!

miss j came all the way from nashville for her photo session! ok ok, maybe not just for her session… you see, she was also visiting her cousin K, who just so happened to be my first client ever after starting this whole shindig almost 2 years ago!! it was so much fun getting to see how much K has grown– and of course i could have just eaten him up when he started taking pictures of me with his invisible camera and hello- miss j’s expressions? love.

meet miss c!

her mama won a mini-session in a fitness contest and decided to use the session to document her sweet baby girl at 7 months old. this is my absolute favorite age to photograph (6-18 months, really)… and my favorite age to parent (so far) haha. by this age, kids have grown into their awesome little personalities, but aren’t so mobile that i’m working up a hard sweat. we’ve been terrible two-ing it for quite some time in casa de mullins, so hanging out with a happy little non-mobile bundle of joy was such a welcomed relief

meet master w, the newest mullins

this little fella has been a part of our lives for exactly two months now, and it has taken me almost as long to finish editing his newborn photos! i guess that’s what happens when you’re trying to adjust to life with two kids? i’m not gonna lie and say that it’s been easy, but we have finally settled into somewhat of a routine and it’s getting easier by the minute. call it chronic lack of sleep, but i have a hard time remembering life without him!

miss G has adjusted beautifully to being a big sister– she is crazy, wild, compassionate, loving, and, most importantly, will leave her brother alone… for the most part. i thought she would have a hard time when i was paying more attention to W, but she is right there beside me calming him down and talking to him with the cutest little “awwwww, bebe! is ok bebe! come ‘ere. awwwwww!” haha

of course, when it came time to take photos with him, she was having NONE of it…. that is, unless he was in a “boat.” and you can forget having her actually touch him unless they were both in “boats”! i suppose that’s how a 2.5-year-old mind rationalizes walking in on a photo shoot with a newborn in a dough bowl… clearly, he’s boating.

first off, how cute is newborn e!? you can definitely tell he’s the sibling of his firecracker big brother, b. we had our session the day before b’s 3rd birthday party, so he was quite excited reading and re-reading all of his birthday cards. (so cute!) the excitement faded to antsy pants as our session went on, and just when we thought he was completely over getting family shots, b pulled out his most favorite thing to “read” of all: his parent’s honeymoon photos! check out that awesome sunshine-y smile! the w family is so lucky to have two incredibly cute boys on their hands. watch out, world!
