i have been wanting to try a cake smash for a while, so what better opportunity than my sweet baby G’s first birthday?

we set up the shoot with natural light in our garage (sophisticated, huh?) and let her go to town!  we thought it was going to be a rather tame event until she figured out that she could smash it with her feet 🙂   it could be my mommy goggles talking, but i just love these and may be offering cake smash sessions in the very near future.   please let me know if you’re at all interested!!

cake? check.   balloons? check.  handmade party hats, custom-labeled bottles of water, personalized cookie and sippy cup favors?  looks like someone’s mommy is an event planner 😉

little miss A had a picture perfect first birthday party and something tells me she has a lifetime of these gorgeous events ahead.  even the homemade cupcakes & smash cake were impeccable– and what party would be complete without a screaming-baby-group shot?  i love shooting first birthday parties, and this was certainly no exception! (and yes, i know that sounds bad… i promise there were no firearms involved)

I had the pleasure of working with the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore again at their “Family Fun Day” event at West Shore Park.  So many families came out for a day full of live entertainment, toy demos, baby yoga, face painting, the Soundheim fountain, and much more– and I was there snapping away the entire time 🙂

… and hot it was.  i just spent the last two weeks photo-stalking Baltimore’s Inner Harbor along the promenade for a project with the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore.  while i did catch heat in the form of stares from many parents and security guards as i snapped along, the real heat was clocking in at a whopping 113 degrees on several of my outings.   i melted, died a little, and got some shots that i think the WPB will be happy with.  so here’s to my first go at urban landscape photography!

… and a sweet little moment along the way
